SERVICES:
Unlike Customs Brokers, we do not leave it to the client to figure out how to get their consignment of hunting trophies from Africa to the US. We will research facilitators in each of the African hunting destinations to locate a select few that in our opinion offer the best service to the client, to that end we have selected South Africa in which to begin. The following contacts will be made available to our clients upon their signing with us.
In South Africa, we are partnered with a dip/pack facilitator that will collect our clients trophies free of charge (7 or more) in the following provinces: Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng and the northern part of Free State. Should there be a substantial number of trophies in another province (either as an individual or hunting with a group) this provider will also collect them free of charge.
In today’s economy many clients are hunting in more then one African country during the same trip and have asked about shipping trophies from other countries into South Africa either to have trophies mounted by a SA taxidermy studio or combined with the dip/packed trophies taken in SA and shipped together to the client. We can assist our clients in this.
We are also partnered with a company located close to O.R. Tambo International airport with over 25 years of experience in the proper packing, handling and exporting of hunting trophies to various destinations throughout the world.
We receive nothing for these referrals they happen to be very, very good at what they do and like us are committed to service to the client.
We will work closely with the outfitter you have chosen for your hunt, we contact them immediately after we receive your signed contract and funds, to introduce ourselves and to inquire as to the dip/pack provider that use. We will contact them as well, (only after you have notified us you have received a reply from them, asking if they offer discounts etc.) getting prices, estimated turn around time etc.
Consignments of raw trophies are sent to DEN where one of our staff will clear it through Customs. And return with it to our approved Designated Port exception facility located in Denver, Colorado, which is located almost in the center of the US, making the shipping of trophies easy to any point in the US. It is here that your consignment is stored pending a scheduled inspections by USFWS & USDA. These inspections are scheduled when the consignment leaves for the US.
Once your consignment clears the required inspections, we determine best source of transportation, fill out applicable BOL and we deliver to the common carrier’s dock early enough to where your trophies are loaded on a trailer and on the way to you within 24 hours of clearing. As an example, we had a crate of raw hunting trophies from a client’s hunt in NZ, consignment cleared on a Thursday, it was delivered to the carrier by 2 pm on Friday and client had it in Battle Mountain, Nev. ready to be delivered by 10:30 am on Monday.
Consignments of mounted trophies will be cleared through the Designated Port closest to where the client lives (or wishes it sent) we will have discussed whether the client will pickup his consignment or would rather we set up a delivery for them.
Our fee of $425.00 covers all cost, fees and inspections required to clear your trophies into the US. There is only one exception, which is on consignments over 7 trophies there is an additional charge of $5.00 for each additional trophy as USFWS has an hourly (or any portion of) charge when doing on site inspections, and the more trophies that have to be looked at and matched with paperwork, the longer the inspection takes.
That is it, no “incidental” charges for faxes, sending emails, transportation from airport etc. You know each and every time what the fee will be for clearing your trophies.
We are a small, highly motivated group who will, through our attitude, attention to details and our willingness to search for solutions (such as changing “the system”) that “bigger is not always better” or even desirable.
